Regional food is one of Indonesia's very diverse cultural treasures. Every region in Indonesia has unique and delicious special foods. The regional food business is very promising, because it can attract tourists to taste the typical regional food. Apart from that, regional food businesses can also help promote the richness of Indonesian culture and improve the regional economy.

The stages of starting an authentic regional food business are important to know. One of them is how to maintain the quality of the food. Because every food must have a different way to maintain the quality of the food.

Consider how and what budget is needed. Planning a regional specialty food business also needs to pay attention to financial capital. To make management easier, adjust the budget that has been planned in the business plan. This is also to avoid losses.

Stages of Entrepreneurship in Authentic Regional Food Entrepreneurship

1. Choose the type of regional food business

If you want to start a business, you must prepare a regional specialty food business plan first. First of all, see what the people around you like. For example, if local residents prefer salty and savory food, assume that the business actor comes from Bandung. So research regional foods that have a “salty and savory” taste. So after that choose and adjust to your taste.

2. Choose a strategic location

If you already have an idea for what kind of regional food business, the next step is to choose a strategic location. Because no matter how good the concept of regional food being sold, the results will be less than optimal if it is in a location that is difficult to reach.

Especially if the location is less convenient to visit. So before starting a business, consider a location that is easy for consumers to access, easy to remember, close to the crowds and even better if it has a large parking area.

3. Consider Market Competition

What is the selling appeal of “regional food?” Of course the “uniqueness” of this region's food compared to others, right? So planning a regional specialty food business also does not escape research from competitors. Try to choose food that has few competitors but suits people's tastes. With this, it will be easier for business actors to carry out promotions.

4. Choose an attractive business name

A business name that is unique and easy to remember will also be easier to stick in the memory of potential consumers later. Moreover, if it contains elements that are unique to that region, then potential consumers will be very interested and want to try it.

5. Carry out promotions and marketing

To introduce business products, you also need to do marketing. You can start by marketing your product from social media and introducing it by word of mouth. However, if you have more budget, you can also use special advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Instagram Ads and others

To attract the attention of more potential consumers, don't forget to provide promotions as “acquaintance” prices. This method can also be a benchmark for whether the product being sold is in accordance with the existing target market.
