A road near Souq Waqif and a section near Katara Cultural Village are where Qatar takes pride in its blue-colored roadways. Roads are being blue-coated as part of an experimental responsibility to make the pavements cooler.
To lower road surface temperatures and counteract the urban heat island effect, the coating contains ceramic microspheres and a heat-reflecting pigment. Additionally, a unique substance used to construct the roads reflects sunlight, lowering surface temperatures by 15 to 20 degrees Celsius.
The roadways also improve the surrounding areas' aesthetic looks while cooling them.
