How to market your product with twitter marketing
effectively? I have collected the best practices and implement some of them and
get good result. So, I will document the twitter marketing activities here in
my blog and you can learn from here then perform the activities, monitoring
these, and evaluate the result for better future performance.

Why using twitter to market
your product or service?

As we know, the basic theory is you have more opportunities
to get more sales if you market your product or service to more prospect.

As stated by official twitter web about number of active users on
twitter are approximately 230 million. Notes, I got it when I wrote this
article and I do not know the exact number on twitter now.

Let’s do little calculation, for examples:

According to your copywriting, if your average conversion
rates is 1%. You can measure how many sales will you get.

Number of prospects = 1000
Conversion rate = 1%
Number of sales = number of prospects x conversion rates = 1000 x 1% = 10.

If you have more number of prospects, let say you have 2000,
so number of sales is = 2000 x 1% = 20.

Thing for remember, the above case is rough calculation, it does not reflect the situation in the real world, but the intention is “It is better to get more
audiences or more prospects”.

And
the most important point : the key is not the number of prospect only but the
number of targeted audiences. The more targeted audiences the higher conversion
you will get.

Now, I will inform you best practices how to market your
product or service on twitter. 

Twitter marketing best practices to market your product

1.Create multiple twitter account for multiple purpose.

Allocate one account for one function. For instance: one account only for
respond customer complaint (helpdesk) and the other one is account for branding
or campaign, etc.
2.Create account name which represent you or brand.

For example:

If your brand is “xy”, so the samples are below:

@xy-helpdesk = account for customer handling
@xy = account for perform a campaign

Actually, you can create one account for multipurpose. If
you can control it, it is no problem for you. 

Why I choose to create one accout for one purpose? Because,
It is easier for me to trace and monitoring the activities based on Key Performance
Indicator if I separate that account. 

Let say you want to monitor how fast your helpdesk team
responding customer complaint, you just monitor or measure and focus on
@xy-helpdesk account.
If you want to monitor conversion rates of your current
campaign, just analyze in your @xy account.

According to my experiences, you will get more insight if
you implement this best practices. 

 


3.Acquire many followers as possible.


You can get follower with two approach : organic approach and paid approach. And
I will tell you the sample activities for both method.

How to get follower with organic approach

Here are the steps:

-Perform deep research to get high conversion keyword which
is related for your business.

Twitter has it’s own search engine.  Use advance search feature to discover issues
/ problems, information which people want to know, what issues interest them.
You will find it easily because people express wants and needs on Twitter all
the time.

-You can spot whether the account is real human or spam bot
by doing researching above. You have to get targeted audience and real human.
If you have built the list of targeted audience. Do the next step.

If you perform step number one correctly, you will reach targeted
people based on keyword in their recent tweet.

-Start read what your targeted audiences said, then respond
them, reply their comments and their ideas or their feedback. Show them the
right information and  the right solution
at right moment and context.

The point is: be helpful for them and initiate
conversations. Join discussion and engage with them.

-Make a connection with influencer in this keyword (topic)







Find your influencer in your topic and make a good relationship with him. First
action you can do is follow him then favoriting one of his tweets to create
social impression.

Afterwards, spot good conversation which relevant to the
topic. It isn’t recommended that you instantly advertise your product to him,
but perform unique approaches that you can take.

Engage with him by
mentioning them in non-promotional tweets, also make a good response if he
reply you.

If you make him
impress, He must be retweet you. As a consequence, people will  follow you because people find you that you
are in their line of interest.

How to get follower with paid approach

You can promote your tweet by advertising in twitter. The
fundamental theory to advertise in social media (twitter for example) is find and reach the targetaudience.

Based on information in the official twitter above, you can
target the people by keyword (topic) in timeline, interest, Geography, Gender, characteristic
or interest similarity of current follower. There are more targeting option,
they are: targeted by device and search result.

There are two ways to promote your tweet:

Promoted Tweets in search
result
Reach users who are searching for your keyword (topic). Your Tweet appears at
the top of the search results based on winning the auction for the search
terms.

Promoted Tweets in timelines
Reach users who are likely to be interested in your message including your
current followers who might have missed your organic Tweets and your targeted
audiences. Your Tweet appears at or near the top of the user’s timeline and
scrolls down in the timeline like any other Tweet.

By doing this, you will reach more number of targeted
audiences and message them with the appropriate content at the appropriate
time. They will read your tweet which is the things they care about or things
they are interested in.

Promoted Tweets are offered on a CPE (Cost-per-Engagement).  You only pay when user clicks, retweets,
replies to, or favorites your Promoted Tweet. Furthermore, impressions on Retweets are free.

4.Generate campaign regularly.


I will give three samples of marketing campaign on twitter.

-Host some contest.


This campaign is great way to increase traffic to your landing page (website
where you sell the product).

For example:
-Create review contest. 
The contestants have to write the
review in their website and pointing your landing page as the requirement to
join the contest. After that, they must tweet with special hashtag and must
mention you too. The winner will get some free of your product.

-Offer promotional codes.
Tweet promotional codes to get user attention. Tell them if they retweet, they
can get more discount or get a VIP card member of your forum or another
rewards,  and so on. 

-Ask costumer feedback.
 
Tweet to ask customer,
provide them a link to your form page. 
After responding you, tell them to mention you on twitter so that you
can give them special gift for the top 10 best responder.

Another sample, you
can ask how about your FAQ page on twitter by giving them a link to your
FAQ  page, is the information make them
clear or not. Tell them to write suggestion for improvement on that page.  And give a special gift for top 10 best
responder.

5.Use keyword in your tweet.


Beside using keyword in your profile, you have to tweet with some of your
keyword (can be added with keyword hashtag) consistently with a gradual period
of time.

6.Produce  good copywriting
and eye-catching tweet headline
.



Tips to make good copywriting:

-Give something useful to audiences (like provide them
solution)
-Deliver unique ideas and specific way to solve to their problem.

Do a A/B test for getting most retweet or comment.

7.Vary your content.


This is a part of your content strategies. I will inform you kind of content.
You can see below:

-You can tweet how-to tutorials.
You can do it by creating series of tweet or provide link of the tutorials.

-Tweet a questions.
This is one of the method to get more engagement with the audiences.

-Tweet Quotes.
You can tweet great quotes that match with your keyword from influencer or
quotes that you created.

-Tweet photos.
At a special time,  you need posting a
beautiful picture that can make viral. 

-Tweet videos.


Generate the best videos, so that your follower interest to share them and make
them viral.

8.Track, monitor, measure your twitter marketing activities.


This is the most important task you have to do. After creating key performance
indicator, always monitor and make measurement.

For examples: track your conversion rates, your impression,
number of reach of audience, monitor when most of your follower online, what
content is the most engaging, how fast you respond the customer, number of sales
each campaign, number of new follower after campaign, number of unfollower
(when they unfollow you and why), and so on.

market your product and make your product appear and reach more audiences on
twitter. Actually, there are many twitter marketing strategies out there, but I
