In 2015, Shopee was launched in 7 markets across the region.

Held our first Shopee University session

Pioneered the first 9.9 Super Shopping Day

Shopee launched its signature 9.9 Super Shopping Day in 2016 to reach mobile-first shoppers across Southeast Asia and Taiwan.

Introduced Shopee Mall across the region

Shopee Mall is now the region’s leading online mall offering one-stop access to a wide range of international and local brands.

Launched the first Shopee in-app game, Lucky Prize, to bring a more fun and engaging shopping experience for users

More games, such as Shopee Farm and Shopee Candy, were introduced to make shopping more social and rewarding.

Introduced ShopeePay, Shopee’s mobile wallet, in 2018 starting with Indonesia

ShopeePay now serves users in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Launched Shopee Live, our in-app live streaming feature

The feature provides live entertainment and engagement, allowing buyers and sellers to connect in real-time.

Opened our regional headquarters in Singapore

The new office was a significant milestone in our journey, allowing us to to nurture tech talent, develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and create more job opportunities. The building spans 244,000 square feet, and can accommodate up to 3,000 employees.

Launched Shopee in Brazil

This marked our first market venture outside Southeast Asia and Taiwan.

Launched Shopee Code League

The largest online code league in the region the event hopes to nurture tech talent and enthusiasts, and allow them to connect from across the globe.

Launched Shopee Premium

The feature is now available to users in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam

Celebrated our 5th Birthday

Shopee celebrates its birthday every December 12, with celebrations across our various local offices, and alongside our 12.12 Birthday Sale.
